Jin Sheng is a commercial litigator, arbitration counsel and accredited mediator with 17 years of experience since his admission to the Singapore Bar in 2009. He is a recognised insurance disputes practitioner who acts across the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious insurance work, advising insurers on complex questions of policy liability and coverage as well as on the review and drafting of policies.
His insurance practice spans construction risks under Contractors’ All Risks and Industrial All Risks policies, professional negligence (legal and real estate), aviation, marine, workmen’s injury, property damage, guarantees and performance bonds, and he has developed a distinctive niche in the defence of medical practitioners, including Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners and physiotherapists. His insurance work has been recognised by asialaw as a Rising Star for Insurance (2025) and by The Legal 500, which lists him as a Recommended Lawyer for Insurance (2025) and commended his construction-related disputes and medical-practitioner defence work in its Asia Pacific 2026 guide. Jin Sheng was also recognised as “Next Generation Partners” by Legal500 (2017 Edition).
Beyond insurance, Jin Sheng maintains a broad disputes practice — in court and in arbitration — covering construction disputes and adjudication under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act, MCST disputes, employment and restraint-of-trade disputes, shareholder and directors’ duties claims (including minority oppression), banking and finance disputes, restructuring and insolvency, white-collar and regulatory crime, and high-net-worth family matters.
Jin Sheng has expanded his dispute resolution practice into mediation. He is an Accredited Mediator, and has undertaken accreditation courses as an International Mediator with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Mediation Centre (CCPITMC) and the Guangzhou Diversified Dispute Resolution Centre (GDDRC). Fluent in English and Mandarin, he is well placed to act on China–Singapore cross-border matters.
He also works with NGOs supporting migrant workers on both contentious and non-contentious matters.
